This is a wonderful, highly detailed example of Seaboard's standard class 0-6-0 known as the L5. Built by Baldwin between 1907 till 1913 they were re-numbered 1030 thru 1059 in 1917. The L5s remained in use until 1952. This loco has a cylindrical Vanderbilt Tender. Vanderbilt's cylindrical tenders were stronger, lighter and held more fuel in relation to surface area than rectangular tenders. Several major US Railroads employed the Vanderbilt Tenders.
Like all Bachmann Locomotives this Switcher's Substantial Weight gives it Excellent Traction and Pulling Power.
